The Topic Guide, available under the Thesaurus Tab from Search Tools, is a top-down view of the discipline's topic areas. It contains over 5600 topics and will assist you in finding the best keywords to expand or narrow your search. The Topic Guide is an unparalleled resource for acquiring a cohesive view of the discipline's subject areas and their interrelationships.

Using our interactive Thesaurus Search you can browse for terms in the Topic Guide via a hierarchical, alphabetical, or rotated index display. These display formats allow you to navigate the topic guide alphabetically or through the hierarchical relationships between terms. After finding appropriate terms, you can submit a search for those terms. Search terms can also be combined or restricted by using AND/OR operators.

Terms selected from the Topic Guide are searched against all text fields of ComDisDome. For example, a search on "audiology" will retrieve records that include audiology in the Title, Abstract, or Descriptors field. For a search in the Descriptors field only, use Advanced Search or Command Search to search DE=audiology.
